About Us

FUNAAB COPAFEU

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is proud to be a key beneficiary of the prestigious COPAFEU project. Supported by a Finland-based organization, this initiative brings together African and European Higher Education Institutions to foster sustainable growth and service-learning pedagogy.

Our Contribution FUNAAB’s specific research focus within COPAFEU is on sustainable entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on converting waste to biogas. This innovative approach will help address pressing environmental challenges while promoting renewable energy solutions.

COPAFEU OBJECTIVES

Boosting Employability and Educational Capacity in African HEIs

1 - Staff Skill Improvement

Improve skills of HEI staff members in implementing an enhanced service-learning (E-SL) method, including the production of digital open access teaching material.

2 - Student Employability

Improve the practical working skills of HEI students through E-SL to increase their employability in the local and global labour market.

3 - Student Digital Skills

Improve skills of HEI students in producing digital cases and open access teaching material as part of their work in enhanced E-SL projects.

4 - Inter-African Collaboration

Enhance inter-African HEI collaboration capacity through shared E-SL projects and through dissemination and uptake of E-SL open access teaching material into other courses/programs.

5 - Shared Value Creation

Creating shared value and enhancing the knowledge on new opportunities for sustainable growth of local E-SL beneficiaries (such as private firms, innovation hubs, entrepreneurs, NGOs and other non-academic actors in the local labour market) and enhancing HEI and community relations through E-SL projects.
